Hi everyone! Wanted to shine some light on this book series by Sara C. Roethle because I truly enjoyed reading it and it was very bittersweet finishing the series. There are four books included which sometimes, in my opinion, can be tricky with a series. I’ve read plenty where there were four books and three would have been sufficient. This was not the case with this series for me.

It gives Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets The Witcher and I was 100% there for it. We’re following Lyssandra in a slow burn romance/fantasy/adventure with vampires, witches, demons and other magical creatures along with human heroes and thousand-year-old plots.

The FMC is funny and sassy but not in an overwhelming way, there were many points where I genuinely laughed out loud at her inner dialogue or the banter between her and the side characters. As for the side characters, the author did a wonderful job at making them as likable and important as our FMC. They have great personalities and were a huge part of me enjoying this series.

It’s hard to pick one MMC for me as the way the story was written, we are mostly getting Lyssandra’s perspective with other characters perspective’s sprinkled in. She has her love interest, but the other side characters are such a huge part of her life in this story they play equal parts.

One of my favorite quotes: “If you go down, I go down. If you turn into a monster, then I will become a villain at your side”.

Overall, I would give this series 4.5/5 stars based on me being willing to recommend it to others and would re-read the series.

Hope you check this series out and enjoy it as much as I did!
